Monochrome Love

Vest - Primark, Jeans and Denim Jacket - Topshop, Boots and Rings - H&M, Necklace - Dorothty Perkins

I bought this cute little monochrome sheer vest-y top today, envisaging all the outfits I can rock it with for S/S.   Today I thought I'd go simple with my go to jeans, but ah, it will just go with everything!  Not bad for £4.
This is like a shopping, or cinema outfit, just a day to day kind of one, but if I was to dress it up some more, I think I would go for a pair of black cigarette trousers or stick with the jeans and put on a black blazer with gorgeous heels or stick with the boots...as they're my new favourites.  Despite really hurting my toes, though.

Whenever I make a mirror image of my outfits, it always loses its quality.  For example, all of my pictures are taken on the same, very good, camera.  So, why, when I edit them into mirrored images, do they go all rubbishy?!  If you know, please help a girl out!

Oh, and thank you all so very much for your book recommendations, I will get my hands on them as soon as I can, but currently I am just about to begin the second book in the Beautiful Creatures series; Beautiful Darkness.  The book turned out to be so much better than the movie, so, I was right!  The movie completely changed the storyline of the ending, which totally annoyed me.  If you make a movie of a book, atleast stick to the storyline closer than they did.  Maybe they did it because they don't intend on making another movie.  I'm not sure, but nonetheless, I'm loving the books.  Mind you, they're totally ruining my revision schedule.

Talking of revision schedules, I must go back...Sad Megan.

Haul Time

Crop Top - Internacionale (£6.99)

Stacking rings - H&M (£3.99)
(ignore my chipped nail polish...I'm off to paint them in a sec!)

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl (£2.95 at Tesco)

Pretty boots - H&M (£24.99)

As promised, my haul.  Despite there not being a lot, it's atleast £40's worth; atleast 2 weeks of wages!  (baring in mind, I only work on Saturdays so, still pretty darn good for me).

I've been lusting after one of those turtle neck crop tops since the moment I first saw one.  Finally I have got my hands on one and I'm clueless as to why it took me so long.  If you read yesterday's post, you'll know I was looking for some plain-ish tees that I could just wear with everything and in my disappointment, I gave in a bought one of these cuties.  I'm definitely going to get myself a black one too, I can see myself wearing it non stop over the summer with denim cut offs or statement trousers.  At £6.99 from Internacionale, it was one of the cheaper ones...Although it is annoyingly see through so I wish I spent a few more pounds and went to Topshop or ordered from Asos.  But alas!

I bought the stacked rings just because I think they give an outfit just a really cool touch.  I can't quite explain  it, but as a girl who loves jewellery, I'm super in love with simple things right now.

As for the book.  I'm a huge book lover (mainly of rubbish, supernatural, teen romances; Twilight and the like).  I saw the movie of Beautiful Creatures and was quite dissapointed  but I've got a feeling that the book is going to be a lot more in-depth than the movie, that I felt, sort of ran over the key points too quickly.  I'm trying not to set my hopes too high, just incase.
On the note of books, I really would love to 'open my mind' to more literature and good books.  Not just classic novel, anything that you feel everyone should read in their lifetime.  So, if you have any recommendations, please let me know in the comments!

Finally, my gorgeous boots!  I love them!  So pretty.  I've been after a pair like these for what also feels like forever, but the same as with the crop top, I just never found myself buying any.  It was probably to do with the fact the only ones I found were close to £70 when I'd much prefer to spent £25.  So, I did!  Without a shadow of a doubt, I love them!  Super happy with them and I think they'll be one of the finishing touches half of my outfits are crying out for.

I have attempted to film a haul twice now.  The first time I was much to rambley and my hair was a hideous, hideous mess - even more so than usual.  And the second time the entire thing was out of focus.  I looked like a pink-y, yellow-y blob.  So...Off to shower, paint my nails before round 3 of my haul attempt...

Turtle Neck Bandwagon

Crop top - Internacionale, Skirt, rings, boots, faux fur - H&M, Belt - Primark, Leather Jacket - Motel

Today I bought this pretty little crop after I jumped onto the turtle neck crop top band wagon.  I've wanted one for ages, but never got around to buying one!  Today I did after my search for simple tees and in my disappointment  I bought this.  Thus, satisfying myself again.  I'm slightly annoyed now though, as its so so see through!  Should have just spent an extra few £££ and gone to Toppers!  Oh well.

Pretty simple outfit really.  I wanted to highlight my lovely new boots which I also got today for tha bargain price of £25.  I couldn't resist!  Especially after wanting a pair like them forever!  I was coveting chelsea boots in a similar style, but after having no luck I decided to just buy these babies instead.  I'm a happy chicka!  Definitely on the way to satisfying my need for new things, but let's wait until I get paid before I go all out.  Woo!

Once again, I apologise for the poor pictures.  As soon as it starts to warm up, I'll get them taken somewhere much nicer than my bedroom.  It's beginning to wind me up how crap they look.  Think I need to invest in a tripos to thoroughly crush this issue.  Anyway.

I'll have a mini haul up tomorrow; literally mini, mini.  So yeah.

Good night, I'm off to read Beautiful Creatures in the desperate hope that the book is better than the film.  Or good day...depending when you're reading this.

Black as his heart

Dress - Romwe, Jacket - Motel, Bag - H! by Henry Holland, Necklace - Gift, Rings - All mum's, cuff - Topshop, Lipstick - Topshop in Beguiled

I wore this outfit to go to a charity fashion show at a local all-girls school.  I wouldn't have gone along normally - as it was mainly aimed at pupil's friends and family.  Most of the models were sixth form students along with a few teachers, I think.  I went along to help out a friend and also because I really wanted to!
I went along with Question Me a group that is based around young people and they do all sorts.  They filmed the event as part of Question Me TV and I presented for them.  I've never done any presenting before but I do make YouTube videos so I thought it would probably be ok... And it was!  I think... I interviewed a few of the students at the school about modelling, styling, inspiration and just general questions about the event along with an interview with head mistress.  It was all in all pretty fun!  I really enjoyed presenting and watching the show ten times more then I thought I would and I'd really love to do a bit more presenting stuff in the future.

I wanted to look quite smart yet stay on trend as it's a fashion show after all.  A girls got to dress good right?  I smartened up this super sweet dress from Romwe with black boots with a small heel to make it more sophisticated and, really, just to make my legs look a little longer then they actually are!  (If you guys know how I can sort this short leg issue out, please help me.  I'm desperate!) I wasn't going to go into official work mode though because erm...it wasn't work.  I threw on my leather jacket to add some 'edge' and just make it a little rockier and live up to my 'fashion blogger' name which I rather enjoyed being known as on the night.  The satchel just goes with everything so that explains that.  I loved the look and felt really comfortable and just like myself in it.  It's not too daring but it still looks good.
When the video of the night is all ready I'll put it up for you guys to have a quick look.

All in all, I've had a very successful weekend.  I've ordered 3 pairs of shoes (pictures up when they arrive), filmed a few videos, read my magazines & part of my new book (might do a post on it once I've read it - it's about fashion careers), finished off my 40's style apron at my sewing class and got loads of ideas for upcoming things!

Brighton Rocks - yes rocks!

Everything from Topshop (Opps....!) except: L rings: L - Miss Selfridge R - H&M & earrings - Silver Scene

If you follow me on Twitter then you may know that I am currently in Brighton until Sunday with my family.  We normally go to Brighton a few times a year as my grandad has a flat here that he lets us stay in whenever it's free (he usually rents it out) so my parents jumped at the chance when they found out it was free a few days ago so here we are!  It's not too much trouble for us to get up and go to Brighton as it's only an hour away from us and we can pack very quickly so, yeah here we are.

I didn't really plan any of the outfits that I would wear when we got here, I just threw all of my clothes I've been wearing recently into my travel bag so when I put this together this morning it was hard as it was that annoying weather; you know it's warm enough for shorts but it's cloudy and miserable looking so you'd look silly in shorts ect.  So I went for these pyjama trousers, very thin and comfy for a long day of walking around and seeing sights (even though I have seen them all before...100's of times...) and decided it needed to be dressed up with my peplum top.  I can't preach to you enough how much I love this Topshop peplum top, despite a lot of people hating them due to not fitting their shapes or just they have a distaste to them!  But I love them and I think they are incredibly flattering on my shape (in my opinion) and an awful lot of other people too.

I got my fringe cut the other day, back into a bare-able length for me.  Thank God, I could not stand it before, I had to keep curling it under to look like how it does now and in real life it looked so silly, so it's a relief!  I love short fringes I think they look pretty and cute but still give you an 'edge' without looking overwhelmed by a fringe; like I tend to when my fringe is longer.  My fringe seems to take over my entire face!

Unfortunately after we ate, I forgot to take any more photographs so I apologise.  But lucky for you guys, I'll be going out again tomorrow and the next day and the next until sunday so I'll try my best to take some pictures of the shops and pretty places that we go to.

We walked along the sea front up to Brighton Pier, to the coolest restaurant ever! JB's American Diner and it is soo cool!  Amazing American diner food; think all kinds of burgers, hot dogs, wraps, sandwiches... and top notch super cool milshakes and ice cream!  I couldn't get any better photos as the place was packed with families and screaming children so I didn't want any one ruining my photos.  But if any of you are ever near Brighton make sure to go there, it's soo cool!  Photos of 50's style bit all over the place; Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn all over the place.  Completely inspired by America, it's just so cool!
Then we went off to all the pretty little shops, they are just SO cute!  Got a pretty little pair of cross earrings in a little silver shop, coolest pair of black suede studded ankle boots & some cool new dark lipstick from Topshop!

Lipstick in Beguiled - £8, Boots - £40 both Topshop

Pretty me at the end....!
I'll do a review on the lipstick/post something on it when I get home and I'll do one for the boots aswell.

Ah, just ordered a spiked bracelet from ebay too, thank you Paige if you're reading this!  Can't go wrong for £1.21 including delivery - despite the shipping from China and the 12-24 day wait...!

Anyway, I hope you all have a fantastic day and enjoy this post!
